Punahou’s Student Employment Program provides valuable work experience.

This program is designed to take you through the employment process from applying to becoming an employee. Student employment also reinforces the value of responsibility and helps to develop interpersonal skills within a work setting.

When applying, it is recommended that you read the job descriptions and align your interests and skills to them. This will allow you to focus and enhance these skills that may be useful in the future when applying to college or entering into the workforce.

  • Student Requirements

    • Must be at least 14 years of age
    • Generally work between one and five hours per cycle
    • Shifts are at least 30 minutes
    • Must provide and update their school schedule and availability on their application
    • Must complete an HR paperwork session
  • What is Expected

    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Reliability and dependability
    • Good work ethic, ability to take and follow instructions
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Neat appearance
    • Use of good judgment, ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
    • Ability to balance school commitments, play and extracurricular activities with work responsibilities
    • Demonstrate appropriate motivation about gaining work experience
