Presented by the Punahou Music Department presents, the 2025 Concerto Showcase will feature three extraordinary soloists from the Class of 2025 – Preston Chi (violin), Ashley Jisue Hong (violin), and Gwyneth Tenn (violin) with Punahou Symphony Strings and guest musicians.
No registration or tickets required to attend; All are welcome.
The program will open with Johann Strauss Jr.’s Die Fledermaus Overture. It will be followed with Henri Vieuxtemps’ Violin Concerto No. 5 in A minor, Op. 37, Camille Saint-Saëns’ Violin Concerto No. 3 in B minor, Op. 61, and concluding with Edouard Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole, Op. 21.
Punahou’s annual concerto program is a culminating activity for seniors to showcase their musical contributions and inspire younger students. The concert will also feature special video vignettes with the young artists, highlighting their personal musical journeys and perspectives on their repertoire.
