Aloha Punahou ‘ohana,
I hope this letter finds you safe and well! It is hard to believe that more than a year has passed since the pandemic began. Despite the challenges, I have never been so proud to be a Punahou alumna.
Over the past year, Punahou evolved as education needs changed, and so too did the Punahou Alumni Association. Whether it was webinar events, like Women in Tech, that brought presenters from both Silicon Valley and New York City to inspire generations of alumni online; virtual Bingo Night, which brought together alumni in more than 30 states for family-friendly fun; or Alumni Week with more than 30 virtual events, we saw the reach of the Punahou community and felt the amazing energy and enthusiasm this group creates – even digitally.
Throughout all this, I’m always reminded of just how important connecting with friends and family is – virtually (just one click away!) and in-person. This next school year, we’ll continue to focus on the needs of the alumni community and utilize the innovative solutions we’ve now mastered to reach, connect and engage our alumni community. And we’ll look for opportunities to safely host in-person events, too. I know we all missed connecting with each other in person, and virtual hugs just don’t cut it!
I hope that everyone will take a moment to bookmark the Punahou Alumni page,
www.punahou.edu/alumni to stay up-to-date on alumni events, volunteer opportunities, Reunion updates and contact information for the eight PAA regional chapters.
And please remember to join the conversation on social media,
@punahoualumni. Don’t forget if you happen to still be working remote in a new location, please reach out to one of your local chapters to get connected!
Go Puns!
