Punahou Sessions is a series of live music videos created and produced by Allen Murabayashi ’90 to celebrate the extraordinary depth of musical talent among Punahou alumni and students.
Sessions showcase Punahou’s diverse talent pool of musicians – composers, conductors, vocalists, instrumentalists, international pop stars, and Broadway stars – in a variety of musical genres recorded live throughout iconic venues on the Punahou campus.
The first season of Punahou Sessions honored Punahou’s 175th anniversary and featured a collection of musicians spanning the classes of 1946 – 2020. In 2017, the second season of Sessions launched with musicians representing the classes of 1967 – 2022. Murabayashi selected the artists with Kikilia Fordham ’82. He enlisted Evan Asato ’11 to direct each video and Darin Leong ’95 to mix and master each track. Punahou Sessions was created to share the rich, musical legacy of Punahou and to inspire students to add to this remarkable lineage.
