Arthur H. Bowen

Bowen was instrumental in the curriculum development of numerous projects including the U.S. History contract system and the ISS course. He chaired a K – 12 social studies curriculum project, co-founded of the community service requirement for seniors and coached JV tennis for more than a decade. After having taught at Punahou for 22 years he was appointed as an academy dean in 1991.

Bowen is recognized by his colleagues as a powerful mentor within the Council of Deans, has made meaningful contributions to the lives of his students and is an exemplary role model for the Punahou community.
