Trippi Ahrens ’64 Penland

This year, the awards committee selected four recipients of the Old School Award – Vicky Hollinger ’59, Trippi Ahrens ’64 Penland, Lissa Lam ’72 Schiff and Kellie James ’01 Schmidtke.

Trippi Ahrens ’64 Penland is the consummate host and exemplar of the spirit of aloha. She has hosted the Punahou Alumni Association Mid-Atlantic Annual Picnic and other Punahou events at her Virginia home for many years, and has welcomed newly arrived people to the D.C. area with her charm and aloha. She currently serves as the President of the Hawai‘i State Society of Washington, D.C. Trippi, a recent amputee, also has volunteered with the Wounded Warrior program teaching disabled veterans and children to ski.
