Academy Bands

The Academy band program encompasses four concert bands open to students with prior wind, brass, or percussion experience. Concert Bands I and II provide a strong focus on continued individual and ensemble music performance skill development; membership in Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble are by competitive placement. All concert band members perform at least two concerts per year with their ensembles. The Punahou Marching Band serves as a musical ambassador for the band program, performing at football games, parades, and a marching band festival. The Punahou Jazz Ensemble meets during the Spring semester of each school year and auditions are held in the Fall for placement.
